A Surface
There is no grand vision other than a desire to make something. In this particular instance, cradled wood panel offers a solid surface for drawing and layering materials. Off the the races. Now what? Add a few pages from Fifty Shades of Gray for background texture, and because it's personally amusing. Any so called mistakes are embraced as a way to be steered in a hitherto unpredicted direction.
Play
With slightly textured blank surface and a reasonably blank mind, drawing begins. Drawing for the sake of drawing. Without doubt, kids are the best artists, because they are fearless and driven by play and curiosity. Childhood art-making having never stopped, it has evolved into a grown-up version of itself. A conduit to childhood fearlessness, or as close to it as one can attempt to attain.
Aptitude
The Goon Show, Monty Python, Fat Freddie's Cat, Mad and Cracked and Plop magazines, et al, a lifetime's worth of childlike play, drawing in school all day every day, it all has evolved into what you see here.
A wise man one said, "Use paint straight from the tube." Purchase the colours you like, and use them as is. If all else fails, "Hit it with a mop."
